This week on NXT was the championship addition of the show as Sasha Banks defended her NXT women's championship against Alexa Bliss in a rematch from last week and Finn Balor finally got his shot at Kevin Owens NXT Championship.
Sasha Banks defeated Alexa Bliss to retain the NXT Women's Championship
Last week these two ladies had a very good match (I here you groaning that it ended in a countout but they needed to do that finish to have this rematch here this evening and it was the easiest way to keep both girls strong going into this rematch) but here they out did themsevles from the previous week. It finished when bliss got a near fall from an infa red, she then went up top but Sasha knocked her off and applied the banks statement to make bliss tap out.
Backstage Vignettes and Promos
Emma turned heel by slapping Bailey , all I have to say this is its about time they started to do something different with emma. The dizzy blonde/bad dancing gimmick was dead in the water by the time she reached the main roster so it was about time she was turned and now can probably get serious at long last. Hideo Itami interrupted Tyler Breeze interview and challenged him to a best two out of three falls match for next week which breeze reluctantly accepted. We got a plug for WrestleMania 31 and Saxton run down the card for the granddaddy of em all. They showed some video packages on Finn Balor and Kevin Owens then the announce team talked about the main event. Enzo, Big Cass and Carmella were in the back talking to one another and then where interrupted by the NXT tag team champions Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy. Murphy and Blake apologised to Carmella for accidently knocking her off the ring apron last week and gave her a gift which she accepted and it's jewellery. Obviously there turning Carmella heel or at least teasing it, so hunter does listen to the crowd then.
MAIN EVENT
NXT Title Match: Kevin Owens (Champion) Vs Finn Balor
Great match to end the show that got over 18 minutes of tv time. Early on owens dominated the match but Finn Balor kept coming back for more. Eventually Balor made a comeback and had full sail on its feet when he nailed owens with Bloody Sunday ddt for a very near fall indeed. Balor then hurt his knee and like a shark owens smelt blood and went to work on Balor's sore wheel. Owens dropped a seated senton onto Balor's knee and applied a half Boston crab but Balor reached the ropes somehow. Balor battled back with a double foot stomp but couldn't get a pin on the champion due to his bad knee. Owens continued the punishment to balor's knee and it all become too much for Balor as he lay tried up in the ropes and owens gave balor's knee/leg a cannonball splash over and over but eventually owens missed which gave Balor time to recover. Balor climbed up top and nailed owens with a top rope double stomp but Balor couldn't pin owens again due to his bad knee. Owens recovered and nailed Balor with a pop up powerbomb for the 1,2 and 3. Lots of replays aired then owens celebrated to end the show.
