This week on NXT was the long awaited in ring return of Sami Zayn, also Dana Brooke made her in ring debut and Saloman Crowe took on the now departed from NXT CJ Parker.
NXT TV REPORT RESULTS
The usual video package opens the show and It's right into match number one of the evening as the hacker saloman crowe takes on CJ Parker who was released by wwe following the taping of this match.
Singles Match: Saloman Crowe Vs CJ Parker
Cj is out first to barley any reaction whatsoever then crowe makes his way to the ring to a much better reaction. Both men lock up and Parker backs crowe into the corner and Parker is all over Crowe but Crowe turns it around and unloads in corner on Parker. Parker regroups on the ring apron but Crowe knocks him off and dives out onto Parker. Crowe rolls Parker into the ring but Parker battles back with a big boot, Parker recovers and works over Crowe with stomps and punches. Parker drops down onto Crowe with a senton for a 2 Count. Parker applies a rear naked choke but eventually Crowe battles out after the two lay in the hold for far too long. Parker pounds on Crowe but Crowe fires back up and the two slug it out in the middle of the ring. Parker then nails Crowe with a spin kick for a near fall, Parker gets frustrated and goes for a second senton but Crowe gets his knees up. Crowe goes up top and splashes down onto Parker leg and applies the strecth muffler which forces Parker to tap out. Ok match but nothing special, again I expected so much more from Crowe and hope he can turn it up with his chracther and in ring wrestling skills because he isn't impressing me whatsoever at the moment in NXT, after entertaining me for years in CZW as Sami Cullihan.
Winner: Saloman Crowe
Afterwards Crowe grabs the microphone and " says you need to stay tuned because the real show is just beginning. A graphic of the main event is shown then we get a graphic hyping tonights impending debut of Dana Brooke.
Singles Match: Boran Corbain Vs Steve Culter
Corbain wins another squash match ending Culter with the end of days in seconds, can't rate this match as it only lasted a few seconds but I'm begging wwe to do something new with Corbain now.
Winner: Boran Corbain
It's to the back with Sami Zayn who claims rhino is using him to get to the top of NXT just like kevin owens had done.
Tag Team Match: Enzo Amore and Big Cass Vs Sawyer Fulton and Angelo Dawkins
Before the match Enzo runs through his usual shtick with the highlight being him saying he was the Michael Jordan of jogging, they then make an official challenge to the NXT Tag Team Champions Blake&Murphy. Out comes Dawkins and Fulton who seem to be nothing more than a rip off of the worlds greatest tag team (Charlie Haas&Shelton Benjamin). Quick tags between the incredibly over enzo and Cass early on as they work over Fulton, enzo misses a splash from the top rope and then out walks the NXT tag team champions Blake&Murphy. They offer carmilla some flowers (now I'm convinced it's all leading to a carmilla heel turn) and she accepts. Fulton applies the Abdormal strecth but enzo battle out and tags big cass who back drops sawyer and gives Fulton a big boot. Swinging side slam by Cass and he tags enzo who goes up top and drops a leg drop to pick up the win, Afterwards carmilla enters the ring and enzo looks pissed at carmilla. This was Nothing special as enzo and Cass beat the jobbers to advance on in there eventual showdown with the NXT tag team champions.
Winners: Enzo Amore and Big Cass
Alex Riely cuts a promo in the back saying he was back because he was going nowhere owens, he says he will be in the ring next week against Kevin Owens.
Womens Match: Dana Brooke Vs Blue Pants
Dana gets a big entrance where she does lots of sexually suggestive dancing, I guess it's still 1999 then. Dana works over blue pants as fans chant you can't wrestle. Dana flexes her arm to no heat whatsoever then chokes blue pants in the corner. Blue pants comes back with a big kick and fires up but brooke cuts her off with an omega driver and picks up the win. Again this was nothing special it only exsisted to put over Brooke who isn't the most talented of performers but I can see her doing very well in wwe for some reason, probably because she's ripped and vince and hunter are fans of people who are ripped and in there mind that is what a wrestler (in wwe) should look like.
Winner: Dana Brooke
They plug next weeks show and show graphics of charlotte vs Bailey and kevin Owens vs Alex Riely.
MAIN EVENT
Singles Match: Sami Zayn Vs Rhino
Before I start I refuse to spell the rhino name the way wwe does (Rhyno) because I've always spelt it like the ECW way with the i instead of y as to me it's just silly. Zayn works a headlock but rhino powers out and shoulder blocks Zayn to the outside. Zayn recovers and rolls back into the ring and rhino applies a front face lock which Sami battles out of. Sami nails rhino with a head scissors which sends rhino to the outside. Rhino works over Zayn in the corner with punches then stomps a mudhole in Zayn. Rhino chokes Zayn over the middle rope then Zayn gets back up and nails rhino with a number of forearm smashes and a dropkick. Rhino comes back with a clothesline and we go to break, when we return rhino is in control as he has Zayn in a chinlock. The Crowd chant ole but rhino has the hold on tight, eventually Zayn battles back with a big splash from the top rope for a near fall. Rhino then nails Zayn with a spine buster for a near fall, rhino whips Zayn from one side of the ring to the other and then pounds on Zayn in the corner with left and rights, rhino stalks Zayn as the Crowd gets quiet. Rhino drives his elbow into Zayn stomach over and over then he charges Zayn and both men wipe one another out. Rhino covers Zayn for a 2 count then rhino stands over Zayn as Sami throws weak shots into rhino gut. Zayn then fires up but rhino picks up Zayn but Zayn counters and nails rhino with a blue thunder powerbomb for a near fall. Zayn heads up top and comes off with a cross body but rhino catches him and drives Zayn into the mat with a modified neck breaker for another near fall. Rhino hammers at Zayn in the corner after zayn slaps rhino, rhino goes up to the second rope but zayn knocks him off and rhino falls to the outside. Zayn then dives out onto rhino and rolls rhino into the ring, rhino then gives Zayn a belly to belly to set up for the gore but he misses. Zayn then nails rhino with a hellluva kick to pick up the win. Good match to end this weeks show and it's great to see rhino can still pull off a performance like that at his age and it seems the man beast has been rejuvenated in NXT.
Winner: Sami Zayn
